Wouldn't it be nice to live in America again. I don't mean the over regulated, top heavy, all intrusive, policeman of the world, America that we live in currently. I mean the United States of America that we were supposed to be. Look at the phrase "The United States of America"
The means the, United means joined together, States at the time of the Constitution and for all of history prior to it meant a sovereign political body, or a nation/country. So when the Constitution was ratified what the people thought they were getting was a Union of Sovereign individual nations. Each State was it's own nation. Each state handled all of it's own business by it's self for it's self.
The Union they joined into was only supposed to supplement the individual States in the manners specifically allowed in the Constitution that the individual sovereign states ratified, and joined with voluntarily. The Union was not supposed to become more powerful than the states and was never meant to usurp the states or hold them to any other laws or regulations than what was specifically dictated and allowed in the Constitution.
Now look at today. We have a Federal government that thinks it is their function to make laws nullifying cell phone contracts that people were stupid enough to sign without reading. We have a Federal government that puts regulations and incentives in place to turn food into fuel, thereby creating food shortages, instead of allowing private individuals and companies to drill for fuel here on our own land, thereby raising both food and fuel prices. We have a federal government that dictates because 167 people out of 304,320,044, got sick that the rest of us can't eat a tomato. We have a Federal government that thinks it is in charge of the whole world and not the head of a Union of sovereign states, like it should be. We have a federal government that tells us what we can say and where we can say it (look up free speech zones), wants to dictate how much money we are allowed to earn, tells us that we must then give most of that money to the government or face jail time, tells us what we should eat, what we should drink, how much exercise we should get, where our kids go to school, what they will learn and not learn, what we should think, and sends us the bill for figuring out all of this stuff for us, that we should be figuring out and deciding for ourselves, and our families.
What kind of sense does it make that if the city of Wetumpka, the County of Elmore, or the State of Alabama want s to raise funds that they have to abide by what the Federal government says, who gave them that power? What kind of sense does it make when local cities and counties apply for Federal monies? Where did the Federal government get the money? From taxes from the people in the local areas.
Our government today is completely upside down domestically and in our foreign policy. We shouldn't have the Federal government in every aspect of our lives, nor should it be meddling with the affairs of other nations. We shouldn't go around the world telling other people what to do any more than we should be told by folks in Washington that we can't buy a tomato. Or use cane sugar in a soft drink instead of corn syrup.
We shouldn't be borrowing money from a private bank (the Federal Reserve), when our Constitution gives the power and authority to coin money (interest free) to the United States Treasury. We should act like a democracy when we are not, we are supposed to be a Constitutional Republic made up of a Union of Sovereign States.
